Reactions

You may only declare Reactions with Ready models. You may only declare one Reaction a turn and only during an opponent’s turn.

MOVE

Cost: Reacting model gains 1 fatigue.

Trigger: After an enemy model resolves a Move Action.

Effect: Make a standard Move Action. Models may not move through hazards or other model’s bases.

OPPORTUNITY ATTACK

Cost: Reacting model gains 1 fatigue.

Trigger: After an enemy model declares a Move Action while in the reacting model’s engagement range.

Effect: Roll ATK +1 bonus success versus opposing DEF of that enemy model.

COUNTERATTACK

Cost: Reacting model gains 1 fatigue.

Trigger: After an enemy model declares an Attack Action against the reacting model.

Effect: Roll your ATK instead of DEF against the attack. If you roll more net successes than the attacker, resolve those net successes as if you had made a successful attack. Declaring a Counterattack reaction is not considered declaring an attack against the opposing model.

ASSIST

Cost: Reacting model gains 1 fatigue.

Trigger: After an enemy model declares an Attack Action against another friendly model.

Effect: If the defending friendly model or the attacking enemy model is within the reacting model’s engagement range, add the reacting model’s DEF to the defender’s DEF. Models that are unable to add their DEF do not pay the cost of this reaction, though they have made a reaction.

FAQ

Q: When doing a counter attack, if the defender successfully rolls more successes than the attack, does the defender get to use all of his successes against the attacker?
A: No, the defender would get the net successes after he subtracts the attackers successes.

For Example:

  • Micon attacks Ur-Kek and rolls 4 Successes. Ur-Kek Counter Attacks and rolls his ATK and receives 6 successes. Ur-Kek has won the engagement with more successes vs Micon. Ur-Kek's 6 - Micon's 4 = 2 net successes. The 2 remaining are then decided from Ur-Kek's damage tree. Ur-Kek would still receive a fatigue for the reaction cost.
  • However, if Ur-Kek has rolled 2 successes. Micon would have won, and the 2 successes from Ur-Kek would be subtracted from Micon's 4, for a final result of 2 net successes for Micon's damage tree. Ur-Kek would still receive a fatigue for the reaction cost.

Q: Can you react to Wild Attacks?
A: No, Wild attacks (and any compulsory movement they entail) are not declared, so they won't allow any reactions. This also goes for beasts that Incited.
